CASology #336 Ocean

Hi there!

Welcome to my post for the CASology challenge this week. The cue word this week is “Ocean”. Such an amazing cue word with a million possibilities… Ocean critters are one of my favorite category of stamps and there is such an abundance in stamps and variety in collection when it comes to ocean theme.

Week 336 - Ocean

Here’s my take:

1.JPG

For this card i wanted to contain the design in a die cut window to achieve the CAS look. I first die cut a widow in the card front. Then on a separate card stock i created ocean background with distress oxide inks and waves stencil by simon says stamp.

FEXD2015.JPG

I stamped the sentiment in black and set this piece aside. Next I stamped the image of these adorable whales. This stamp is by lawn fawn and one of the oldest stamps that i own. I also created a die cut window front and inked with distress oxide inks to match the background. Finally i assembled all the elements and i used foam squares to add dimension while adhering.

I hope my card inspires you to join us at CASology and gets you to crafting. Do  play along with us, just remember to keep it CAS. The following CAS guidelines should be of help when creating your design:

  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

CASOLOGY #330 Bouquet

Hello There!

Welcome back to the CASology challenge.  This week the cue word at CASology is Bouquet and there are so many ways to go with this word. The possibilities are simply unlimited.

Here’s My card:

CAS card.jpg

This lovely image of the bouquet is from a stamp set by Crafty Scrappers. I colored it using copic markers and then added a few highlights with color pencils and white pen.

I love how stenciling in the background adds interest and layer without adding any bulk to a CAS Card. It’s one of my go to techniques for CAS Cards. I was so tempted to add jewel drops or sequins or any other embellishment, but i felt the beauty of this card lies in its simplicity.

CASology #328 Smile

Hello There!

Welcome back to the CASology challenge. The moment i see a handmade card , what comes to my face a big simile. There is simply something lovely about holding a handmade card in your hand. Don’t you agree. This week the cue word at CASology is SMILE

week 328 - smile

Here’s my take:

e4c22f01-4e3e-4e8d-9f5c-d889a12cf3bf

To make this card i first stamped and colored this cute image by Gerda Steiner Designs with alcohol markers and fussy cut it.

img_0117-1

Next die cut a tag in white and adhered the peeking fox to one side of the tag and stamped the sentiment on the tag in blue to match with the color of the scarf the fox is wearing. I threaded the tag with white and blue twine to match the color of the stamping and the white background. I finally added a few hearts and adhere the tag on the card with foam tape for added dimension.
