AAACards #124 Imagine

Hello There ! Happy Sunday!

I think i read somewhere that Albert Einstein once said : “Logic will take you from point A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere!”

It’s time for out next challenge and the theme is one of my most favorite words – “Imagine”

#124.jpg

Here’s my take, I imagined a fantasy land of mystic and mythical beings up in the sky. By the way, i am a huge fan of the magical world of harry potter and this card was made when my son and i were reading the book – “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”. Sometimes i wish there were a magical land of crafting and scraps were the money. I would be super rich because i have 3 HUGE bins of scraps (Ok, i just realized while writing this blog that i am hoarding scraps…. Who hoards scarps??). Here’s my card…

IMG_4548

img_e4561-e1537069700944.jpgTo make this card I first stamped the images from the  Mythical creatures stamp set by lawn fawn on to Nenah Solar white card stock (Copic friendly paper) with  memento tuxedo black ink (Copic friendly ink) and colored with copics (you may use any alcohol markers). I then fussy cut the images with a scissors. To create the scene in the sky, i also die cut a few clouds from white card stock.

To complete the card I went with some soft ink blending for the sky and then adhered all the elements before i finally stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set. I then adhere the whole panel to a black card base.

CASology #311 Flip

Hello There!

I hope you had a great week. Thank you for joining me for the next challenge at CASology. The cue word for our next challenge is Flip

Week 311 - Flip.jpg

Here’s my card

IMG_20180827_214212__01.jpg

IMG_20180827_214146_Bokeh__01I always wanted to make a CAS card with just two or three colors. So i tried that with this card. To make this card I first stamped the images with from the ‘Recipe for Happiness’ stampset by MFT on to nenah solar white card stock (Copic friendly paper) with black memento ink (Copic friendly ink) and colored with copics (you may use any alcohol markers). I then fussy cut the images with a scissors.

Here’s a fun tip i learnt from the super talented Kathy Racoosin and follow religiously. After fussy cutting the images, with a black marker color the edges for a very professional and uniform look.

I then added tiny bits of foam tape to the images and adhered them on to a card base, where i had already stuck a black strip of sentiment heat embossed in white. The sentiment is also from the same stampset.

AAACards – Use a Stencil

Hello There!

Happy Sunday and I am so glad your joining me today for the next AAA Cards Challenge!

#122
I feel the stencil is one of the products with most versatility. The wide variety of stencils available  in huge ranges make them a crafter’s best buddy.
Here’s my CAS card using a beautiful lace stencil by Simon Says Stamp
bharati nayudu simon says stamp lace stencil and believe word die CAS card for AAA Cards.jpg
For this card i first placed the stencil in position and inked the card front softly with distress inks. Voila! the card is almost done. All that is left is to adhere the die cut sentiment along with the heat embossed strip.
I am sure you are going to have lots of fun playing with your stencils whether you would ink them up or use embossing paste or glimmer paste or dry emboss them. There are numerous techniques to explore. Just remember to keep your card Clean and Simple.

AAA Cards Challenge -“Friends”

Hello There! Happy Friendship day!!!

I am super super excited for this AAACards Challenge, because the cue word – Friendship, is most dear to me. I actually started making cards to give them to my friends and loved ones. But i am hooked to crafting because of the amazingly friendly crafting community. The daily dose of positive energy has become my staple and has made me a better person in many ways.  Now, i can’t live without it.

Here’s my card for the challenge and i hope it inspires you to play along with us.

bharati nayudu neat and tangled friend CAS card.jpg

XCLB7243aHere’s how i made the card. The first thing i did was to die cut the word friend 3 times and adhered each on top of the other to make a dimensional word piece. Once I had that, I searched my collection of colored images from the daily marker 30 day challenge and  found this cute image of the boy peeking our of the doughnut from a stampset by Neat and Tangled. I had colored with image with copic markers and fussy cut it, ready for use. I then, on strip of black card stock, white heat embossed the “you’re sweet” words. I added a strip of  colorful plaid pattern paper by Lawn Fawn on the side on the card front. Then i adhered all the other elements that were already ready to finish the card.

I actually made this card for my son, Ishaan. He is a real sweet guy, my crafting buddy, loves travelling with me, experiment with food and do all the goofy stuff with me. He is someone who is very funny and always cheers me up when i am feeling low. I am truly blessed to have this lil friend in my life. And yep, if he ever found a doughnut of the right size, he would not wait a second to hold it up and see if his head fitted in. Lol!!!!

CASology #308 Clouds

Hello There!

The next challenge at CASology is taking you us into the clouds….

Here’s my card

To make this card I first softly ink blended my card front with distress ink and then adhered the die cut clouds. I adhered some of the clouds directly on the card front with glue and some with foam tape for dimension and interest. I then stamped this adorable griffin from one of the lawn fawn stamp sets on Neenah Solor white card stock (a copic friendly paper) with the memento tuxedo black ink (copic friendly ink) and then colored the image with my copics before i fussy cut the image and adhered it on the card. I finished the card by adding the sentiment and mating it on to a back card base.

I hope my card inspires you to get crafting and play along with us at  CASology . Just remember to keep it CAS by following the guidelines on the CASology blog.
