The optional twist is to use bright colors and i am sure the pop of colors will look amazing against the crisp whites.
Here’s My take :
XIBA2356.JPG
To make this card I first put a masking tape to mark the area from where i wanted to ink the panel. I then inked up the bottom area of the card with bright colors. I used inks by Tubby Craft for this card as i really like how vibrant they are.
GQHU0361.JPG

Once the inks were dry, I heat embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder.

Finally i matted the panel with a back card and adhered it on a white card base and added a few white highlights.

Techniques with Tubby Craft Supplies

Hello There!

tubby

Welcome to my post. Today i have made 2 projects using tubby craft stamps with two different techniques for card making.

PROJECT 1 : Water coloring with dye inks and background with Alcohol inks

1.JPG

To make this card I first Stamped the image of this beautiful oyster with a pearl from the stampset called “Precious Treasure” using the acrylic blocks by Tubby Craft and Tubby Craft Jet Black Ink  and heat embossed it with in clear embossing powder.

2.JPG

I then colored the image using Tubby Craft Dye inks as water colors. The inks i used are : Imperial Red, Tangy Orange, Lemon Yellow, Light Pink, and Aqua blue. I added a few white highlights and fussy cut the image.

2a.JPG

Then on a separate card front I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set called  “Precious Treasures” using the acrylic blocks by Tubby Craft in Tubby Craft Jet Black Ink. I then added a strip of background with alcohol inks and even slimmer strip of black and white patter paper along the edge of the card front.

3.JPG

I then adhered the fussy cut image of the oyster using multiple layers of foam tape for added dimension. I then matted the card front with black card stock and adhered it to a white card base.

CARD 2 : Dye inks and embossing trap technique

1.JPG

For this card,  I used the image from the stamp set called “Floral Elements:” and using the acrylic blocks by Tubby Craft I stamped the flowers and leaves in Tubby craft inks on a white card stock.

2  3.JPG

To stamp the  flowers, leaves and elements the Tubby Craft Dye inks used are : Imperial Red, Tangy Orange, Lemon Yellow, and Lawn Green .

4.JPG

After the inks were dry i stamped all the images with Versamark ink and heat embossed the areas with clear embossing powder. Once I was sure all the colored images were sealed with the embossing powder, I covered the entire card front with Tubby Craft Jet Black Ink.

5a.JPG

I then cut the entire panel into rectangular pieces and adhered them with multiple layers of foam tape on a card front. This way the patter gets a unique layout and has more dimension. I tucked in a black and white pattern paper on the edge and added a word die cut on the top for sentiment.

CASology #341 Turquoise

Hi there!

Welcome to my post for the CASology challenge this week. We have a colorful cue word this week and it is “Turquoise”.

Week 342 - Turquoise

This is one of all time fav colors and always love interiors in Turquoise. I love the combination of  Turquoise with white that inspired by take…

Here’s my take:

1.JPG

Let me tell you the lovely story behind making this card. Well i knew i wanted to use the alcohol inks for my design so i had them on my desk and i wanted to make a card for my brother, so i had the “Hello” word die by Winne & Walter  as well as the stamp saying ” Bro” by Penny Black on my desk too.

2a.JPG

Just when i began to make the card i realized i did not have any Yupo paper to use the alcohol inks. I started looking for stores in India that hold the stock of Yupo paper and was somehow not able to find any online. So i turned to Instagram for help.

2.JPG

I asked fellow cardmakers and crafters to point me towards store with yupo paper and i got quick and overwhelming help. And then i discovered a craft store called Beyond inks. They hold such beautiful stock of alcohol inks and yupo paper i had to order some immediately.

QKNC7027.JPG

Thanks to the quick delivery by Beyond inks i could make my card before time and thanks to the resourceful crafters online i got help in time.

Now it’s your turn to jump into action!

I hope my card inspires you to join us at CASology and gets you to crafting. Do  play along with us, just remember to keep it CAS. The following CAS guidelines should be of help when creating your design:

  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

2015 Uniko logo

Uniko is returning as our wonderful sponsor this week!  They’re gearing up for their April/May release, so you’ll want to stay tuned for that over on their Facebook page!  In the meantime, be sure and play along with us this week for your chance to win the Uniko prize!

AAA Cards – #139 – Sketch + Optional Twist Shaker

Hello There!
Welcome to a new challenge at AAA Cards. This time we are shaking things a bit with our CAS game #139. We have CAS sketch for you to use for the next fortnight and an amazing optional twist of chosen by DT Ksenija.
#139.jpg
Here ‘s the sketch and please remember you can flip it as well.
#139 sketch.jpg
The optional twist of Shaker was picked by our super talented DT Ksenija. You have to check her blog for amazing inspiration and a huge number of tips.
Here’s My take :
1.JPG
To make this card I first stamped in black this adorable and fun image of a monkey from the chunky monkey stamp set by Sugar Pea Designs. I then colored the monkey with alcohol color makers. I also stamped a few bananas and colored them from the same stamp set. I fussy cut all the images and kept them ready.
2.JPG
I used a square shaker pouch by MFT Stamps and created the shaker element on the card. The sequins used here are by Ranganjali. In the shaker pouch I let the bananas hang using an invisible thread. This way the bananas don’t fall to the bottom of the square window but hang and are more visible. For the background of the shaker window i inked a white card stock with blue distress inks.
3.JPG
Once the shaker window was made, i stamped the sentiment in black from the same stamp set and adhered the cute monkey on top of the window. I know the monkey is hanging from nothing and is there in middle of the air. But i did not want to added anything more to preserve the CAS look.

4.JPG

Finally i matted the panel with a back card and adhered it on a white card base and added a few white highlights.

I hope my cards inspires you to play along AAA Cards challenge and gets you crafting to make some handmade happiness for your loved ones. Just remember to keep is Clean and Simple – CAS.

Multi color- Multi layer Heat Embossing

Hello There!

Welcome to my blog! I am so glad you dropped by! Today i have something very interesting to share. A card with Multi color- Multi layer Heat Embossing. I really had super fun planning the design and making it.

I actually learnt this technique from the videos by Jennifer Mcguire. If you haven’t checked her work, Stop reading this and go immediately check her videos .. Seriously!!!

Here’s the card i made:

1.JPG

Here are a few close ups of the embossing

2a.JPG

2d.JPG

I used multiple colors of embossing powders for coloring the petals of the flower and tried to go from dark in the center to light towards the outside.

For the flower die cut -outline, i used multiple layers of gold embossing powder.

3a.JPG

For added interest, i added a little more red embossing powder on one side…

3b.JPG

I then added the sentiment using a word die from Simon Says Stamp along with its shadow. By the way the flower die is also by Simon Says Stamp.

4.JPG

You should definitely try multi color and multi layer heat embossing…

Do let me know how you like this card by leaving me comments. I love to read them and i appreciate your time on my blog a lot.
