CASology #Glass

Hi there!

Thank you for joining me for the next challenge at CASology and the cue word is “Glass”

Week 321 - Glass.jpg

Here’s my take

UFGFE5844.JPG

Many ideas popped in my head – stain glass effect, beer glass, other cocktail glasses, glass window, snow globe, reading glasses…

I decided to raise my glass to my lil sis, who is traveling beautiful places around the world and enjoying the best in life.

What’s your take? I hope my card inspires you to join us at CASology and gets you to crafting. Do  play along with us, just remember to keep it CAS. The following CAS guidelines should be of help when creating your design:

  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

Please check out the awesome CAS cards that the talented design team members and lovely guest designer made to inspire you:

Can’t wait to see your creative take on this cue word. Do let me know how you like this card by leaving me comments. I love to read them and i appreciate your time on my blog a lot.

Happy Crafting !

Halloween tag card

Hi there,

A quick hello to you!

Squeezed in a little time for just one card. Less definitely is more in times like these. So, made this CAS tag card with Halloween theme.

Although, we in India don’t celebrate Halloween, but I have come to like it a lot. One of the perks of card making and being a part of an international community of crafters is that one gets to celebrate all festivals.

I hope you liked my card and the tag that’s on it. Do let me know what you think about it in the comments section.

I am playing with less is more challenge where the theme is tags.

Happy hugs

Bharati

We all are thinking about you Melissa

Hi,

It is with a very heavy heart that I wrote this blog. I was really in shock when I came to know that my friend n a very talented DT member of AAACards, Melissa Lane was no more. May she rest in peace.

She was an inspiration to me and had personally encouraged me on many occasions. She was so beautifully connected with nature and always a hardworking person. My payers for Melissa’s family and friends.

I join AAA Cards and STAMPlorations to celebrate and acknowledge the artistic and creative talents of Melissa Lane.

This is Melissa’s card and I decided to pay my tribute to her by attempting to case it.

She was a talented cardmaker/crafter/artist, a mother of 4, wife, and servant of Jesus. Melissa loved to garden and she loved photography. Her favourite colour was red, and she loved butterflies — so much so that many of the cards and other projects she made had butterflies in them.

She was a valuable part of the STAMPlorations Mixed Media team and AAA Cards CAS team.

If you knew Melissa when she was alive — maybe you were on the same design team(s) or you were bloggy friends — however you knew her, we’d like to invite you to join us in celebrating her life by creating a butterfly card in her memory.

You may blog about the card you make as a tribute to her or not, but either way, you can add your card to Melissa’s Butterfly Gallery (an InLinkz linky) that will be found on the STAMPlorations tribute post. The linky will be open until October 31.

And should you wish Melissa’s family to have your card, you can mail it to the address below. Shery Russ (STAMPlorations owner and Melissa’s friend) will collect the butterfly cards, put them in a box, and mail them to Melissa’s family.

Mail your butterfly cards to:

Shery Russ
20147 Road 192
Strathmore, CA 93267
USA

***Important: Stamp or draw a butterfly on the envelope so that it doesn’t get opened accidentally. Make sure the envelope is sealed tight and/or the edges are reinforced with tape.***

Finally, here is a message from Melissa’s husband, Chris. He posted this as a comment on Melissa’s blog but he gave Shery permission to pass it on in any way that it can reach a wider audience.

“Hello everyone. This is Chris, Melissa’s husband. I have been blessed by the outpouring of so many people. I know it is difficult to mourn from long distance. If you’d like join the community going through this together, please go to our farm Facebook page @Mainepromisedlandfarm. Gardening and planting flowers were Melissa’s other creative passions and she had worked hard to get our farm to where it is today in just a short period of time. Please read along as my family and I walk through this trial and be able to encourage us as we encourage you with what God is doing to get us through. Blessings, grace and Peace.
Chris”

Melissa will always be in our thoughts and prayers!

Take care

Bharati

AAACards #124 Imagine

Hello There ! Happy Sunday!

I think i read somewhere that Albert Einstein once said : “Logic will take you from point A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere!”

It’s time for out next challenge and the theme is one of my most favorite words – “Imagine”

#124.jpg

Here’s my take, I imagined a fantasy land of mystic and mythical beings up in the sky. By the way, i am a huge fan of the magical world of harry potter and this card was made when my son and i were reading the book – “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”. Sometimes i wish there were a magical land of crafting and scraps were the money. I would be super rich because i have 3 HUGE bins of scraps (Ok, i just realized while writing this blog that i am hoarding scraps…. Who hoards scarps??). Here’s my card…

IMG_4548

img_e4561-e1537069700944.jpgTo make this card I first stamped the images from the  Mythical creatures stamp set by lawn fawn on to Nenah Solar white card stock (Copic friendly paper) with  memento tuxedo black ink (Copic friendly ink) and colored with copics (you may use any alcohol markers). I then fussy cut the images with a scissors. To create the scene in the sky, i also die cut a few clouds from white card stock.

To complete the card I went with some soft ink blending for the sky and then adhered all the elements before i finally stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set. I then adhere the whole panel to a black card base.

CASology #311 Flip

Hello There!

I hope you had a great week. Thank you for joining me for the next challenge at CASology. The cue word for our next challenge is Flip

Week 311 - Flip.jpg

Here’s my card

IMG_20180827_214212__01.jpg

IMG_20180827_214146_Bokeh__01I always wanted to make a CAS card with just two or three colors. So i tried that with this card. To make this card I first stamped the images with from the ‘Recipe for Happiness’ stampset by MFT on to nenah solar white card stock (Copic friendly paper) with black memento ink (Copic friendly ink) and colored with copics (you may use any alcohol markers). I then fussy cut the images with a scissors.

Here’s a fun tip i learnt from the super talented Kathy Racoosin and follow religiously. After fussy cutting the images, with a black marker color the edges for a very professional and uniform look.

I then added tiny bits of foam tape to the images and adhered them on to a card base, where i had already stuck a black strip of sentiment heat embossed in white. The sentiment is also from the same stampset.
