CASology #346 Ring

Hi there!

Welcome to my post for the CASology challenge this week.

I have a important news to share. I am presently at a stage in my life that some of the family and personal goals are taking priority over crafting time. With less time for cardmaking I feel, I may not be able to do proper justice to my position on this very amazing design team. Hence, with a heavy heart I have decided to step down from the CASology team from June 2019.

It was such a great journey for me with the ultra cool ladies on the team. We always helped eachother and shared inspiration. It was just pure creative fun! Thank you so much Deidre Payne, Jacquie Southas, Janet Ribet, Jen Wills, Joyce Mehrberg, Karen Haman, Melissa Chipperfield, Rachel, and Sue Symens. You Gals Rock!

I must thank you all the participants and regular visitors of CASology for all the sweet words and kind comments. It helped me in sharing my creations each week for over a year and half now.

Like they say, all good things must come to an end. This is where i bid you all good bye. I hope we will continue to keep in touch through blogland.

Comming to the cue word is this week. It is “Ring”

Week 346 - Ring.jpg

Here’s my take:

1.JPG

I first stamped, colored and fussy cut the image of this adorable lion. I used zig real brush markers to color the image and add details on the mane.

2.JPG

Next I stamped the images of the circus tent and elephant with a very light distress ink and used masking paper to help get the desired affect.

3.JPG

I then added the sentiment in black and adhered the image of the lion to completet the card.

4.JPG

I hope my card inspires you to join us at CASology and gets you to crafting. Do  play along with us, just remember to keep it CAS. The following CAS guidelines should be of help when creating your design:

  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

CASology #345 Clam

Hi there!

Welcome to my post for the CASology challenge this week. The cue word is this week is “Calm”

I actually started crafting and card making to cope with my stress and still it is a great stress buster for me. Some times i have these bouts of mild depressions and the stigma attached to it makes it even more harder to share. Crafting and the amazing crafting community has really helped me immensely, for which i am forever grateful.

Here’s my take:

DSXR9019.JPG

I first placed the stencil of Buddha slightly off set from the card front and then inked it with distress inks.

I then adhered the the sentiment strips

CASology #344 Summer

Hi there!

Welcome to my post for the CASology challenge this week. The cue word is this week is Summer!!

Week 344 - Summer.jpg

I live in India and the summers here are super hot here. However, they are packed with juicy fruits like watermelons, mangoes, tender palm fruit, musk melon ……. Its a time for holiday from school and fun at the beach or the pool…. I was inspired by all this for my card.

Here’s my take:

1

I first die cut a white card front from a rectangular die and then stenciled it with distress inks and rays stencil by Crafty scrappers.

2.JPG

I then stamped this adorable hippo biting into a water melon in her beach wear. The stamp is by Neat & Tangles and i colored the image using zig real brush markers.

3.JPG

I then add a few white highlights and drops with a glitter pen before i fussy cut the image

4.JPGI stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Black and then adhered the colored image with double sided foam tape.

5.JPG

To complete the card i adhered the whole panel on a deep yellow card base.

So what’s you take on summer? What do you like to do and how is summer in your country. Do share.

I hope my card inspires you to join us at CASology and gets you to crafting. Do  play along with us, just remember to keep it CAS. The following CAS guidelines should be of help when creating your design:

AAA Cards #118 Frames

Hello There !

Happy Sunday and i am so glad your joining me today for the next AAA Cards Challenge!

The theme this time is FRAMES.

IMG_1684

Isn’t it just perfect to inspire a Clean and Simple design. Here are a few ideas to help you start – frame your focal point using die cuts, stamping around the focal point, use the stamp of a frame, stamp your sentiment inside a frame, create a scene inside a window or frame your image with the sentiment. Whatever be the technique you use, keeping the design framed and contained will surely enhance the CAS look and maximize the white space. So join us with your creative take on the theme FRAMES.

Here’s my take on the challenge:

Bharati Nayudu Lawn Fawn stamps Frames and seasons tweetings AAA Cards CAS Cards.jpg

Bharati Nayudu Lawn Fawn stamps Frames and seasons tweetings AAA Cards CAS CardFor my card I first stamped and colored this adorable frame from the Flirty frames stamp set by Lawn Fawn. Then I stamped the tiny branch and the cute lil birdie from the Season’s Tweetings stamp set by Lawn Fawn. This sweet lil bird reminded me of one of my favorite childhood cartoon characters – Tweety. So I colored it yellow and gave it a blue cap. I wanted to make the branch appear as if it was somewhere high and so I masked the bird and the branch to ink a few clouds in the background of the frame. I finished the card by stamping a few pretty flowers and the sentiment in scripty font from the Flirty frames stamp set by Lawn Fawn.

I hope my cards inspires you to play along AAA Cards challenge and gets you crafting to make some handmade happiness for your loved ones. Just remember to KEEP IT CAS (Clean And Simple).

Do visit AAA Cards challenge for more inspiration from the very creative Design Team who have beautiful cards to dazzle you. I encourage you to visit them and leave them some love.

Thank you for lifting me up

Picture1

Hi there ,

Today i am sharing an interactive gate fold card. Its about being thankful day and night – today and everyday for all the things both big and small in our lives that lift us up and cherish each and every moment of life. Living with the attitude of gratitude is the best way to lead a happy and contended life.

I am so thankful for everyone and everything in my life. I consider myself truly blessed for my family and friends. I am so very thankful for the loving crafting community for all the love and support that they provide. Thank you all for lifting me up and encouraging me to pursue my passion for crafting.

Picture2.pngTo make with card i stamped the images from My Favorite things – Growing up stampset with memento black ink on neenah solar white card stock and colored those with my copic markers. I added the white highlights with a white gel pen. The images were then cut using the coordinating dies.

Then i made a white gate fold card base ready by scoring a 6 x 10 white cardstock from both edges.  Using the coordinating die for the image of the big hot air balloon, the window aligning both the folds was cut in such a way that it matched the placement of the hot air balloon in the center panel inside the card.

Next I took three white cardstock panels and die cut these with a stitched rectangle die. I inked the first panel to create a scene with a night sky by ink blending distress oxide inks and then adding white splatters with gesso. I cut this night sky panel to match the window and the gate fold cut on the card base and stuck it to the form the front of the cardbase after adding the sentiment and sticking the colored die cut images.

Picture3.pngIn the next step i ink blended some clouds with distress oxide ink on the remaining two panels to create a day scene. One of the panels was cut to match the inside of the window and the gate fold card base and stuck it on inside of both the folds of the card base. The remaining panel will form the center for the inside of the card. On this panel i first black heat embossed the sentiment and then die cut the gap for slider action. I then added the big hot air balloon in the slider panel in such a way that it fit the window that was already cut in the gate fold card and stuck this panel using foam tape. There are many tutorials online on assembling slider cards, you may want to check out those.

Once the slider was working, I added the grass landscapes that i had made by die cutting ink blended pieces with different green distress oxide inks. To finish the card i added cute little images that i had colored and die cut earlier.

I am playing along with a couple of challenges with this card:

Always fun challenges – #33 Thanks giving

Use your stuff challenge – #289 Thankful

Cas-ual friday Challenge – #187 Gratitude with  Attitude – My elaborate and interactive card depicting thankfulness day and night shows the attitude of gratitude

HLS Dies – Anything goes with dies – In addition to using dies for cutting the inking panels with a stitched edge, i have used the coordinating dies for cutting the images as well as the window in the gate card. The coordinating die was used to cut the window in the inked inside and outside panels on both sides. The grass landscape edges were also cut with the dies that add more interest to the scene. The interactive slider was also cut using a die. I really don’t think it would have been so easy to make this card without the dies.

I always wanted to try this smooshing techniques (i don’t even know if its called that) with distress inks. I gave it a try today and oh what a fun thing it is to do. So simple yet such lovely results. I just used blue and yellow and loved how the green was formed in between.
