Jokes apart, Here are the 3 simple rules, that is found on their blog:

I wanted to create a card to inspire numerous ways for interpretation and a lot of opportunities for different takes on the card.

Here’s how i made the card:

bharati nayudu MFT Hedgehogs copic colors rainbow stencil background handmade card 3.JPGFor my card I first stamped these adorable images hedgehogs and the log from the ‘Happy Hedgehogs’ stampset by MFT on to nenah solar white card stock (Copic friendly paper) with black memento ink (Copic friendly ink) and colored with copics (you may use any alcohol markers). I then fussy cut the images with a scissors. I also heat embossed, the punny sentiment from the same stamp set, with white embossing powder on the image of the log.

Next, I took white Bristol Strathmore card stock (this is card stock is excellent for ink blending and water colors) in standard size (A2). I then placed the ‘Star Grid’ stencil by MFT on the card front and inked the panel with distress inks in lovely rainbow colors. I will be honest here, i really wanted to ink blend only in the central part and let it fade it into white towards the outside edges.  But, once is started ink blending I just couldn’t stop my self and covered the whole paper. Lol!!! Oh! inking is so therapeutic, isn’t it.

I finally adhered the colored images with foam squared on to the inked panel. As a finishing touch I added a few Nuvo Clear drops and a stripe of black and white patter paper. I then adhered the whole panel to a white card base.

AAA Cards- Somewhere over the Rainbow

Hello There!

Happy Sunday and I am so glad your joining me today for the next AAA Cards Challenge!

“Someday, I wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top
That’s where you’ll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dare to
Oh why, oh why can’t I?”
I am from India and we burst out into songs just like that.. Bollywood style …Lol!!

The theme this fortnight is … yup you got that right… Somewhere over the rainbow”

There is something magical about a rainbow and i wanted to capture that in my card. Here’s my take:

For my card I first stamped these adorable image of the rainbow with clouds and unicorn from the ‘Be a Unicorn’ stampset by Avery Elle on to nenah solar white cardstock (Copic friendly paper) with black memento ink (Copic friendly ink) and colored with copics lovely rainbow colors. I then die cut the images with the coordinating dies.

bharati nayudu Rainbow2 unicorn CAS Card with avery elle stamps for AAA Cards.jpgI then die cut two windows in a white card front and stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set. I ink blended a panel with distress inks in such a way that they form the background for the window openings, which i adhered to the card front with foam tape for dimension.

I finally adhered the colored images with foam squared inside the windows. As a finishing touch I added two hearts near the sentiment. I then adhered the whole panel to a white card base.

In case of my card, using the windows helped my maximize the empty space for a CAS look. I love the burst of colors against the white. That’s, i think, is the best part of rainbow theme with a CAS design.

I hope my cards inspires you to play along AAA Cards challenge and gets you crafting to make some handmade happiness for your loved ones. Just remember to KEEP IT CAS (Clean And Simple).

Love is in the Air

The movie UP is one of my favorite movies /love stories. I love the soundtrack of the film as well. Here’s another entry for the aaacardchallenge inspired by the movie UP.

To make the clouds I first die cut a scrap card stock with cloud border die. Then using the die cut as a stencil, I softly blended the cloud pattern on a white card front.

For this card I used stamps and coordinating dies from lawnfawn bicycle built for you , lawnfawn Fairy Friends and MFT adorable elephant. I colored the balloons with water colors and the house with copic markers.

To finish the card I stuck all the elements on the card front and added the Sentiment.

I love how stamps from lawnfawn and mftstamps  go so well together. That’s another love story I guess.

Linking this card toHSL anything thing goes with dies challenge

Hope you loved the card. Have a great day.

Thanks to the challenge at inkspirational #142 that my very first stamp got love after a long time.

The challenge is to use the first stamp and this lil design stamp was my first. For sometime I used to use this stamp at the back side of the card n pen my details. I guess I am going to start doing that again.

I am also entering this card to Paru’s Card Making Challenge for September – Rainbow

This was really nice challenge n I loved playing along.

CASonFriday Challenge – One Layer Card

img_20170825_223728_384.jpg

Hello There!

I am really excited to share this card with you all, as this is my first card as a guest designer. I am very thankful to casonfriday for the opportunity. This card is for One Layer Card #115 Challenge at casonfriday. The challenge is to make a one layer card or one layer wonder as many people call it.

To make this card i used Strathmore Bristol watercolor paper and i think almost all of my distress inks.. Yup there are 18 inks on this one. lol!

img_20170728_082632.jpgI started with stamping the image of adorable elephant from MFT stamps and then masked it using the inkadinkado masking paper.

Then using Rays die from Gina Marie Designs and scrap card stock I made a stencil for inking the rays using distress inks.

Later i peeled off the masking paper from the image of that cute lil elephant i had stamped earlier and colored it using Zig Real Brush Markers. Then all that was left to do was to heat emboss the sentiment in black ink.

Well i really enjoyed making this card and playing along with One Layer Card #115 Challenge at casonfriday . Do play along with this fun challenge!

Hope you had fun reading this post. Thanks for visiting and I love to hear your feedback, so please leave me a comment!

Wishing you tons of Fun!

Rainbow Love

Today i am playing along with some awesome CAS card challenges out there. Here are the challenges and what those are about –

  1.   Cas-ualfridays – CFC# 179 – Only dies
  2.   AAACARDS Challenge – CAS Game #95 – Rainbow
  3.   Less is more Challenge – Challenge #339 – Pierce Your Project

I was actually very excited that i was able to play along with three different challenges with one card.

I think of all the cards i have ever made since my childhood, this one has the maximum white space 😂😂. Although, I love the simplicity and stunning effect of a CSA card, I personally struggle a bit in achieving it. Well, that’s what playing along the challenges is all about,  isn’t it? Experimenting, learning and having fun.

Anyway, if it were upto me, all rainbows will have 8 colors and the new addition would be PINK.  Don’t you think rainbows need a bit of pink?

IMG_20170803_010755

Well, i loved using only dies to pierce my project and add the touch of rainbow colors. Thanks to all the 3 blogs for hosting the challenges.

Hope you liked the card i made. Leave a comment and let me know what you think of it.

Thanks for visiting this page and have a great day!
