I am very excited and greatly honored to play along with Paru’s Card Making Challenge as Guest Designer for the month of April with Flower challenge – to welcome spring. Many thanks to Ms. Paru for having me over.
I have two projects that i want to share with you all – a spring flower theme card & a floral thank you tag.
1st Project :
My first project is a card inspired by my dear friend Sanjeevini, who has a very happy and cheerful personality and who loves flowers and bursts of colors.
To make this card I started with heat embossing, in white, the flowers and leaves from the stamp set ‘More spring flowers’ by Simon Says Stamp. I then added distress ink to each image using finger dabbers and fussy cut them. While adding the ink, mixing two of more colors to get a gradient look always works. I then took another white card piece and heat embossed the sentiment in white before ink blending the panel. The white heat embossed sentiment goes with the white outline and the dash line on the images. I then die cut a rectangular white card panel and then cut a oval window through it. I then adhered the leaves and flowers on the white window panel with tape. I also used foam squares in few places for dimension. I then adhered the window panel with the images using foam tape on to the ink blended card stock with the sentiment. I finished the card by adding a few sequen and adhering the whole card front to a deep green card base.
Apart from the colourful look I love how a portion of the leaves is inside the window and few leave pop out of the card from the top and bottom of the card.
2nd Project :
I really had a ton of fun making my second project which is a thank you tag.
I started with smooshing distress oxide inks on my craft mat and spraying some water. I then pressed my tag onto the ink. I repeated this process several times till I was happy with the results. Building layers of colour each time by adding ink, splattering water and drying between the layers. I then added interest by stamping some scripty font in black ink and the stamp i used is by Hero Arts and its called ‘Old French writing’. To add more interest i stamped randomly pattern from Bo Bunny’s rough-it-up stamp set using spiced marmalade distress ink. I also added an image of a swirly ribbon in black ink from Inbetweenies stamp set by Dyan Reaveley’s Dylusions. To add some texture to the tag i applied some embossing paste using a stencil by Tim Holtz. I was gifting a pack of beautiful flowers by Prima that I was hording since long and finally found place this tag. Before adhering the flowers and the word die cut in black by Mudra Stamps, i did add few splatters of black ink with a thin brush. Then all that was left to do was to tie a white ribbon on the tag.
As you can see I played with a lot of crafty goodies while making this tag and therefore enjoyed the whole process.
The theme for the month – Flowers has many beautiful possibilities and I hope my projects inspire you to play along at Paru’s Card Making Challenge. Thank you Ms. Paru for the wonderful opportunity!
May your spring be filled with colorful flowers and crafts.
I am super thrilled and greatly honored to have joined the awesome Design Team at CASology Challenge. It is indeed a privilege to be working with the very talented card makers I adore. Very grateful to the lovely ladies at CASology for having me and for the warm welcome they have extended me.
The Cue word at for the Week # 285 is “SWOON” and here’s my first card as the Design Team member of CASology. It’s a one layer CAS card, perfect for Valentine’s Day.
I really adore the way these two little mice are looking into each other’s eyes, holding each other’s paws, with overwhelming love… I especially find the knotted tails very cute. I wanted to make a romantic scene on the card and hence opted for a moonlit sky as the background.
To make this card, after stamping the images of the mice & hearts, I covered them with masking fluid. I let the masking fluid dry completely before covering the card front with a masking paper that had a circular window to frame the mice. I then blended distress inks to form a moonlit night sky. Once the inking was done I peeled off the masking, added stars with white gel pen and white heat embossed the sentiment. To maintain the CAS look, I didn’t color the mice much.
I hope my card inspires you to play along with us at CASology Challenge and gets you creating cards for those who make you swoon. Can’t wait to see your wonderful cards in our gallery. Do visit CASology Challenge for more inspiration from the very creative Design Team and the guest designer who have beautiful cards to dazzle you. Hello There !
Today I am sharing a one layer clean and simple style card that is very easy to make and can be used for Valentine’s day as well as for all other occasions.
I have mentioned earlier that i like to craft / color on the go, its mostly because I am hard pressed for crafting time and more so because I would rather craft than do anything else. So I carry a small pouch with my zig real brush markers, water brushes, pre-stamped card fronts, a few tissues, a white & a black pen and I am all good to go. I stamp and emboss some of my card panels and that makes it coloring more fun and easy.
The best thing about this way is that, it helps me focus and make best out of the limited supplies in hand and enjoying the coloring process.
Coloring on the go has also made me more patient in handling any kinda waiting time or service delays. After all everyone is trying to do their best.
This adorable hedgehog by Penny Black Stamps was colored on the go and later turned into an one layer card that are postal friendly. I love how the sentiment lots of love goes so well with the many hearts in the cart.
I am entering this card into a few challenges :
- Less is More # 363 One Layer card – Cute : This adorable and cute hedgehog on a one layer CAS card fits the bill
- Penny Black Saturday Challenge # January – Anything Goes : This adorable hedgehog is by Penny Black Stamps from the stamp set ‘Critters in Love’
Hope you like this card. I really appreciate your valuable comments and the time you take out to visit my blog. Thank you.
Lots of love to you!
Today I am playing along with Calling All Sistahs encouragement challenge n what an awesome challenge it is. Calling All Sistahs is challenge dedicated to creating and promoting breast cancer awareness as well as helping us build our stash of encouragement cards.
Inspired by the reminder for self examination on their blog “I checked myself for the first time”. I have to confess that although I know about breast cancer and I am aware that I can check myself, I never did it. I don’t know why I ignored it. Perhaps I thought I could never get it, which is imprudent thinking on my part. Early detection n regular check ups are THE KEY.
Also important is to encourage the lovely ladies all around us to self examine themselves and not to miss their appointments with doctors. So the first thing I did after I read the post was to learn about self examination on Google and check myself. Then I made this card to encourage you all to do the same. It’s never too late.
I encourage you all to self examine as well as spread awareness.
Hello There !
There’s a new challenge in town and an awesome one! It’s Twofer Card Challenge. I have always loved making multiple styles, using cards out of the supplies that are already on my craft table. So i am sure many are going to enjoy this challenge as it gets the creative juices flowing . Today i am excited to play along with their very first challenge with the theme – Feathers.
I am using the feather stamp from the Happy Dreams set by Altenew for both my cards.
My first card is a dream catcher with the feathers and is an encouragement / motivational one.
I am playing along with less is more purple color challenge as well. Thanks to the challenge i used purple for the dreamy looks.
My second card is a pet sympathy card for someone who lost a dear bird. I think this can used as a general sympathy as well.
I hope you like the cards. I really appreciate your comments and love reading them.

When we think of Christmas the colors that pop into our minds are Red , Green and Gold – perfect complementary colors. Wouldn’t we love if we could achieve completely different styles and looks of cards with a single stamp set using these colors.
Today i am sharing Christmas cards using Ferns & Leaves stamp set by Mudra Stamps.
Card # 1
This one is for those who love inky fingers and burst of vibrant colors.
I inked the card base with shades of green distress oxide inks after masking the edges and sprinkled little water to lift a bit of the color. I then gold heat embossed images of Fern & Leaves stamp set by Mudra Stamps. I peeled the masking tape to reveal the crisp white border.
For the tag I took a smaller card stock and rounded off the corners before heat embossing the edges with silver. I then inked the tag with shades of red using distress oxide inks. The beautiful sentiment that i heat embossed with black is from penny black stamps. For added interest I fixed an eyelet before threading the twine through it and adhered gold sequins.
To finish the card i added the tag on the card with foam tape.
Card # 2
This clean and simple card is made with a dash of same Red , Green and Gold colors but in a completely different look.
I started out by stamping the leaf stamp from the same stampset in a circle with green distress oxide ink to form the Christmas wreath. to finish the wreath, i added enamel dots and a tiny bow made of twine. The sentiment in center of the circle is from penny black stamps and is heat embossed in gold. Before i adhered the panel to a gold card base, i added golden twine under the wreath.
hope you liked both the cards and would give it a try!
Here ‘s some exciting news to crafters all over the world
What do you do when you get asked to guest design at one of your favorite challenges – you jump with joy and accept the lovely opportunity. Well that’s exactly what i did.
I am very excited and greatly honored to play along with AAA Cards challenge as Guest Designer for the Game #105 with the theme – Sparkle. The challenge is to make CAS style cards, so do check out the definition of CAS from their website by clicking HERE.
I love CAS style cards because its made with a few striking elements to compliment the contrasting white space for achieving a stunning look and there is nothing better than adding sparkle to a CAS Card. So here’s my card for the game.
For this challenge I made a CAS Christmas card and the theme – Sparkle was just perfect to play with all the shiny goodies in my craft stash. To make this card I used red Glimmer paste for the strip on the left, gold heat embossing powder for the sentiment as well as for completely covering the elegant snowflake die cut, a golden thread to hang the embossed snowflake, some clear sparkling sequins and green metallic card stock as card base.
I hope my card inspires you to play along AAA Cards challenge and get crafting to spread some sparkle around. Do visit AAA Cards challenge for more inspiration from the super talented Design Team. Many thanks to the lovely ladies at AAA Cards for having me.
