Hello There,

So without further ado, let’s see what the CAS Game #107 is :

#107

The theme – Chilled has many possibilities and hope it gets your creative juices flowing. The moment i read the word chilled, pictures of polar bears and icy glaciers started popping in my head and I was inspired by the blue and white of the challenge photo to make a card. Here’s my card for the game.

bharati nayudu lawn fawn polar bear on skates in ice for aaacards challenge

For this one I first stamped the images of the ice block and the adorable bear with skates on from the stampset called Beary special holidays by Lawn Fawn stamps, with  Memento black ink on Neenah solar white paper and colored it with Copic makers before fussy cutting them. I then masked the card front with just a circular gap and also masked the area inside the circle that i wanted to keep white. I then blended in few blues using distress inks. I peeled off the mask and adhered the fussy cut images after i stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set.

Warm Winter Wishes

IMG_3318.JPG

Hello there !

Warm Winter Wishes to you all! Isn’t this cozy image from lawn fawn stamps just adorable. Well it’s one my favs and i am so glad i made this tag card with it and using the sketch from Freshly made Sketches Challenge #318.

download

For this card i followed the sketch shown here and first adhere a strip of pattern paper from the winter collection by Papericous on the white card panel before matting it on a black card base. Then i made a tag out of the same patter paper and adhered it on a black mat after fixing a eyelet and knotting a twine through it. I then stamped the image on the tag and stuck the image, which i had already colored with copics and fussy. Then i finished the card by stamping the sentiment from the same stampset on the white card panel.

Vola ! a card with cozy and warm winter wishes is ready for mailing.

1 Stamp Set – Many possibilities

One of my personal challenges is to make as many cards and designs as possible from a single stamp set. To give my stamps the maximum love i challenged my self to make at least 10 cards from a stamp set. The MFT’s Space Explorer stamps are so cute and  the sentiments are so versatile that one could just keep on going…

To check these images on Instagram follow #1stamp10cards or click HERE

picture1.jpg

The first thing I did was to stamp, color and fussy cut all my images. I think i have a few images from Lawn Fawn’s Out of this World stamp set as well (I like to mix brands for more fun). I also coated all the images with my wink of Stella glitter pen, because the fact is that there is huge amount of glitter in the space and that’s what makes the sun, moon and the stars shine… lol

CARD #1

1.jpg

For this card i blended Distress Inks on watercolor paper and flicked some white paint on it to make the galaxy. I love how the galaxy came out on this card.

CARD #2

2.jpg

This card is a Clean And Simple one. All i did was brush the galaxy with water colors, adhere the images and black heat emboss the sentiment. Vola! a card is ready.

CARD #3

I just love how this astronaut is floating amidst so many planet and stars. The oval die cut background symbolizes the expanding galaxy. The galaxy is made with distress oxide inks and clusters of stars have been die cut to add interest.

CARD #4

My Gansai Tambi watercolors arrived and i had to rush to my craft table to make a galaxy using those. The intense pigment gives a rich look to the galaxy and helps the images colored with copic markers pop against the background.

 CARD #5

When i saw that sentiment “today the world revolves around you”, all I could think of was a spinner card. In this card the world literally goes around the cute astronaut . How cute is that!

CARD #6 & 7

6.jpg

After floating about in the space for quite sometime, those astronauts landed on some new planets. I wish they discover a planet where crafting burns most calories. I will turn skinny in just a few days…

CARD #8

I just can’t get enough of the pop up box card. There’s something really charming about how a flat card pops open into a dimensional box card. The floating astronaut is just perfect for these types of cards.

CARD #9

10.png

This astronaut image is particularly best suited for a spinner card as it has the same shape in the front and back (one need not stamp a mirror image).

Shaker’s gonna shake – shake – shake – shake – shake

I just love making a shaker card. Well truth to be told, i have seen so many crafters on Youtube heat emboss an acetate sheet that i was fooled to think it was easy. Well my first two acetates warped so much i just could not stop laughing at myself. Third time definitely is a charm and i managed to get it right.

Thanks for visiting this page. Hope you had fun reading it. Have a great day!

Have a musical day

IMG_20171121_011444

Hi There,

Today i am super excited to share this card because i love musical themes and these instruments – tabla and sitar are really awesome Indian musical instruments.

I am playing along with the sketch challenge at Craftyscrappers and i have used their products – Rays stencil and No music no life stamp set.

Screenshot_20171119-235140

Ok back to the card. I followed the sketch given in the challenge and made a Gate Fold Card.

To create a gate fold card a 5  1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of white cardstock was used as a card base. The short side was scored at 2 1/8 from both edges on both sides and folded. Both the sides were matted with black card stock, leaving a slight white border all around.

Following the sketch, for the left side a stenciled panel was made using the rays stencil and ink blending with distress oxide inks. While the stencil was still in place sparkle was sprayed for added interest. The stenciled panel was then stuck on the left fold. The right fold was stuck with a plain white card stock for contrast. The black matting works as a border for both sides.

Picture1

The rectangular panel on the center was made by ink blending distress oxide inks and flicking and lifting some water.  For the focal points the images of tablas and sitar from No Music, No Life stamp set were stamped with memento black ink and colored with copic markers before being fussy cut. The cut images were then stuck on the center panel with foam squares for some dimension. The ink blended panel was then matted on to a black card stock and stuck only on the left fold of the card.

To finish the card the sentiment from the same stamp set was white heat embossed on to a black card stock strip, that has a fish tail cut on one end, and was added as per the sketch.

When ever i use products designed by Indian designers and made by Indian crafting companies, i feel very great. Honestly, there is so much talent in India and handicrafts are part of very household. So this card is extra special.

Hope you liked the card. Do let me know what you think of it by leaving me a comment.

Have a great day!

Love is in the Air

The movie UP is one of my favorite movies /love stories. I love the soundtrack of the film as well. Here’s another entry for the aaacardchallenge inspired by the movie UP.

To make the clouds I first die cut a scrap card stock with cloud border die. Then using the die cut as a stencil, I softly blended the cloud pattern on a white card front.

For this card I used stamps and coordinating dies from lawnfawn bicycle built for you , lawnfawn Fairy Friends and MFT adorable elephant. I colored the balloons with water colors and the house with copic markers.

To finish the card I stuck all the elements on the card front and added the Sentiment.

I love how stamps from lawnfawn and mftstamps  go so well together. That’s another love story I guess.

Linking this card toHSL anything thing goes with dies challenge

Hope you loved the card. Have a great day.

Monsters.ink

Hello there!

Made this Clean n simple card inspired by the movie Monsters.inc for the AAACard Challenge #101 – inspired by a film challenge and less is more #351 – Monsters challenge.

The ink splotches are my tribute to the month of Inktober!

To make this card i first stamped the cute monster image from Crazy Monsters Stampset by Mudra Stamps on copic friendly paper and ink to color with copic markers. After fussy cutting the colored image, i adhered a googly eye for dimension and added fun. Once the image was ready, I stenciled an ink splotch with distress ink after heat embossing the sentiment in black. Then all there was left to finish the card was to adhere my monster image on the card before mounting the panel on a black card base.

Thanks so much for dropping by and do let me know what you think about this one in the comments

Monster Hugs and Happy Inktober!
