Hi There!

Thanks for joining me. Today I am super excited to be the ‘Muse of the Week’ for the Muse Card Club. I want to thank  Ardyth and the DT members at the Muse Card Club for this honor and privilege.

The creations from the DT members and Guest Designers at this challenge have always  been an inspiration as well as an education for me. The best thing that I love about this challenge is that, the format encourages creative learning and sharing. It also promotes love and support among the participants.

Jokes apart, Here are the 3 simple rules, that is found on their blog:

I wanted to create a card to inspire numerous ways for interpretation and a lot of opportunities for different takes on the card.

Here’s how i made the card:

bharati nayudu MFT Hedgehogs copic colors rainbow stencil background handmade card 3.JPGFor my card I first stamped these adorable images hedgehogs and the log from the ‘Happy Hedgehogs’ stampset by MFT on to nenah solar white card stock (Copic friendly paper) with black memento ink (Copic friendly ink) and colored with copics (you may use any alcohol markers). I then fussy cut the images with a scissors. I also heat embossed, the punny sentiment from the same stamp set, with white embossing powder on the image of the log.

Next, I took white Bristol Strathmore card stock (this is card stock is excellent for ink blending and water colors) in standard size (A2). I then placed the ‘Star Grid’ stencil by MFT on the card front and inked the panel with distress inks in lovely rainbow colors. I will be honest here, i really wanted to ink blend only in the central part and let it fade it into white towards the outside edges.  But, once is started ink blending I just couldn’t stop my self and covered the whole paper. Lol!!! Oh! inking is so therapeutic, isn’t it.

I finally adhered the colored images with foam squared on to the inked panel. As a finishing touch I added a few Nuvo Clear drops and a stripe of black and white patter paper. I then adhered the whole panel to a white card base.

You Are Beautiful

wp-image-2005998778Playing along with muse card challenge #232 with this card. I just loved Anita Bowden’s design which had so many fun techniques like water lifting, masking n using glossy accent on die cut.

I started of my card by sticking two low tack masking tapes diagonally on my panel and inking the area with distress inks. Then I did the water lifting technique using a stencil. I then stuck the black word die cut and the black strip with the white heat embossed sentiment. The final touch was to use glossy accent on the word die cut to make it glossy and a bit raised. Then all that was left was to peel off the masking. Neat n simple with beautiful results.

I absolutely loved playing along with this challenge and casing the super talented Anita Bowden’s card.

Hope you like my attempt. Have a great day!

Spreading My Wings

” I’ll spread my wings, I’ll learn to fly

I’ll do what is takes to touch the sky”

This is one of the quotes that i like. There is something about this one that makes me work towards my goal and inspires me to follow my heart.

I am playing along with a couple of challenges :

The idea to be inspired by this quote is from Use your Stuff # 274 – Inspired by quote

The idea for the out door sky is from The paper players #356 – The Great Outdoors

The colors for this card are inspired by the Muse Cards #228 – Anita Bowden.

I really loved the colors of the muse card against black. For my card I have actually flipped the color scheme.

and this card fits Moving Along With Times #51 – Things that fly

Actually just recently, My son and i were reading about migration and we were completely in awe of the various species that migrate such long distances. What an awesome phenomena. It was equally disturbing to learn how we humans hinder this natural process and are continuously encroaching / destroying different habitats. I guess that’s why Gandhiji said  that :

“The Earth has enough for every man’s needs, But not enough for every man’s greed”

Thanks for visiting and I love to hear your feedback, so please leave me a comment!

Have a great day!
