Sending Hugs

Bharati nayudu Hugs CAS card

Hi There!

Sharing a card that i made with my son. He always loves to help.  So we colored this cute lil piggy with copics and masked before we stenciled with distress inks. We really loved the way this cutie was hugging the heart and thought the sentiment ‘sending hugs’ matched.

My son is actually recovering from cold and this crafting time helped him distract and feel better for sometime. I strongly believe that crafting has a very calming effect and is one of the best way to bond with kids.

We are playing along with CASology – Hugs challenge

I hope you liked the card as much as we enjoyed making it.

Hugs from both of us! Have a great day.

You are Enough

Hello There!

If I were to pick only one of my cards that i could give anyone and everyone, i will pick this one. This is what i want to tell myself and everyone else as well.

I seem to be falling more and more in love with CAS style of card making. There is something very soothing about the uncluttered white space.

To make this one layer CAS card, I first stamped the big bold YOU with distress oxide ink. I then stamped the coordinating sentiments with black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. To finish the card i adhered it on a black card base leaving a slight border all around.

Warm Winter Wishes

IMG_3318.JPG

Hello there !

Warm Winter Wishes to you all! Isn’t this cozy image from lawn fawn stamps just adorable. Well it’s one my favs and i am so glad i made this tag card with it and using the sketch from Freshly made Sketches Challenge #318.

download

For this card i followed the sketch shown here and first adhere a strip of pattern paper from the winter collection by Papericous on the white card panel before matting it on a black card base. Then i made a tag out of the same patter paper and adhered it on a black mat after fixing a eyelet and knotting a twine through it. I then stamped the image on the tag and stuck the image, which i had already colored with copics and fussy. Then i finished the card by stamping the sentiment from the same stampset on the white card panel.

Vola ! a card with cozy and warm winter wishes is ready for mailing.

Christmas cards with ferns & leaves

Hello There!

When we think of Christmas the colors that pop into our minds are Red , Green and Gold – perfect complementary colors. Wouldn’t we love if we could achieve completely different styles and looks of cards with a single stamp set using these colors.

Today i am sharing Christmas cards using Ferns & Leaves stamp set by Mudra Stamps.

Card # 1

IMG_2901.JPG

This one is for those who love inky fingers and burst of vibrant colors.

I inked the card base with shades of green distress oxide inks after masking the edges and sprinkled little water to lift a bit of the color. I then gold heat embossed images of Fern & Leaves stamp set by Mudra Stamps. I peeled the masking tape to reveal the crisp white border.

For the tag I took a smaller card stock and rounded off the corners before heat embossing the edges with silver. I then inked the tag with shades of red using distress oxide inks. The beautiful sentiment that i heat embossed with black is from penny black stamps. For added interest I fixed an eyelet before threading the twine through it and adhered gold sequins.

To finish the card i added the tag on the card with foam tape.

Card # 2

IMG_2904

This clean and simple card is made with a dash of same Red , Green and Gold colors but in a completely different look.

I started out by stamping the leaf stamp from the same stampset in a circle with green distress oxide ink to form the Christmas wreath. to finish the wreath, i added enamel dots and a tiny bow made of twine. The sentiment in center of the circle is from penny black stamps and is heat embossed in gold. Before i adhered the panel to a gold card base, i added golden twine under the wreath.

hope you liked both the cards and would give it a try!

Kindness – Guest Designer at CASology

Hi there,

I am playing along as the Guest Designer at CASology Challenge this week and I am on cloud nine. CASology is one of the challenges where my work has been acknowledged on several occasions by the talented DT members and i am forever grateful for their constant encouragement and support.

Week 280 - Kindness

The cue word this week is Kindness. The challenge is to make CAS style cards, so do check out the CAS guidelines from their website.

So here’s my take on the cue word – A bit of dimension, glitter and gloss make a CAS card extra beautiful against the white space. I feel being kind is supper cool and hence i went with cool colors. Also to match the word difference in the sentiment i went with a  unique die cut pieces.

The clean and simple way of making a card always highlights the message and the feeling of happiness / kindness that we show each other by giving handmade cards and items.  This is the perfect opportunity to spread some kindness around.  Thank and acknowledge others for their kindness.

Hello There,

What do you do when you get asked to guest design at one of your favorite challenges – you jump with joy and accept the lovely opportunity. Well that’s exactly what i did.

#105 (2)

I am very excited and greatly honored to play along with AAA Cards challenge as Guest Designer for the Game #105 with the theme – Sparkle. The challenge is to make CAS style cards, so do check out the definition of CAS from their website by clicking HERE.

I love CAS style cards because its made with a few striking elements to compliment the contrasting white space for achieving a stunning look and there is nothing better than adding sparkle to a CAS Card. So here’s my card for the game.

For this challenge I made a CAS Christmas card and the theme – Sparkle was just perfect to play with all the shiny goodies in my craft stash. To make this card I used red Glimmer paste for the strip on the left, gold heat embossing powder for the sentiment as well as for completely covering the elegant snowflake die cut, a golden thread to hang the embossed snowflake, some clear sparkling sequins and green metallic card stock as card base.

1 Stamp Set – Many possibilities

One of my personal challenges is to make as many cards and designs as possible from a single stamp set. To give my stamps the maximum love i challenged my self to make at least 10 cards from a stamp set. The MFT’s Space Explorer stamps are so cute and  the sentiments are so versatile that one could just keep on going…

To check these images on Instagram follow #1stamp10cards or click HERE

picture1.jpg

The first thing I did was to stamp, color and fussy cut all my images. I think i have a few images from Lawn Fawn’s Out of this World stamp set as well (I like to mix brands for more fun). I also coated all the images with my wink of Stella glitter pen, because the fact is that there is huge amount of glitter in the space and that’s what makes the sun, moon and the stars shine… lol

CARD #1

1.jpg

For this card i blended Distress Inks on watercolor paper and flicked some white paint on it to make the galaxy. I love how the galaxy came out on this card.

CARD #2

2.jpg

This card is a Clean And Simple one. All i did was brush the galaxy with water colors, adhere the images and black heat emboss the sentiment. Vola! a card is ready.

CARD #3

3
I just love how this astronaut is floating amidst so many planet and stars. The oval die cut background symbolizes the expanding galaxy. The galaxy is made with distress oxide inks and clusters of stars have been die cut to add interest.

CARD #4

4.jpg

My Gansai Tambi watercolors arrived and i had to rush to my craft table to make a galaxy using those. The intense pigment gives a rich look to the galaxy and helps the images colored with copic markers pop against the background.

 CARD #5

5.png

When i saw that sentiment “today the world revolves around you”, all I could think of was a spinner card. In this card the world literally goes around the cute astronaut . How cute is that!

CARD #6 & 7

6.jpg

After floating about in the space for quite sometime, those astronauts landed on some new planets. I wish they discover a planet where crafting burns most calories. I will turn skinny in just a few days…

8.jpg

CARD #8

9.png

I just can’t get enough of the pop up box card. There’s something really charming about how a flat card pops open into a dimensional box card. The floating astronaut is just perfect for these types of cards.

CARD #9

10.png

This astronaut image is particularly best suited for a spinner card as it has the same shape in the front and back (one need not stamp a mirror image).

Shaker’s gonna shake – shake – shake – shake – shake

I just love making a shaker card. Well truth to be told, i have seen so many crafters on Youtube heat emboss an acetate sheet that i was fooled to think it was easy. Well my first two acetates warped so much i just could not stop laughing at myself. Third time definitely is a charm and i managed to get it right.

Thanks for visiting this page. Hope you had fun reading it. Have a great day!
