CASology #Punctuation

Hello There!

Thank you for joining me for the next CASology challenge. The next cue word is “punctuation”. We are expecting some super interesting takes n designs in our gallery

Here’s my card

To make this card I first inked the edge with distress inks n a stencil

I have fallen in love with using big bold sentiments, especially on a CAS design. This bold “yes you can!” stamp is by Simon say Stamp. I felt that the exclamation mark is perfect for the cue word this week. So I stamped it with black ink. Finally, i adhered the card front to a black card base.

I then added a strip of patterned paper on the edge for added interest.

I hope my card inspires you to get crafting and play along with us at  CASology . Just remember to keep it CAS by following the guidelines on the CASology blog.

Do check out the awesome CAS cards that the talented design team members made to inspire you

Fall leaves

Hi There!

I am so happy you are joining me. I have a fall card to share with you today.

1

I first inked the panel with distress inks using the leaves stencil by Newton’s Nook and then added the word die cut by simon says stamp in black card stock.

I added some glossy accents on the die cut and some sequins before placing the card front on to a base.

Guest Design Paru’s Card Making Challenge – Flowers

Hello There,

flower

I am very excited and greatly honored to play along with  Paru’s Card Making Challenge as Guest Designer for the month of April with Flower challenge  to welcome spring. Many thanks to Ms. Paru  for having me over.

I have two projects that i want to share with you all – a spring flower theme card & a floral thank you tag.

1st Project :

Bharati nayudu thankyou card with flowers.jpg

My first project is a card inspired by my dear friend Sanjeevini, who has a very happy and cheerful personality and who loves flowers and bursts of colors.

To make this card I started with heat embossing, in white, the flowers and leaves from the stamp set ‘More spring flowers’ by Simon Says Stamp. I then added distress ink to each image using finger dabbers and fussy cut them. While adding the ink, mixing two of more colors to get a gradient look always works. I then took another white card piece and heat embossed the sentiment in white before ink blending the panel. The white heat embossed sentiment goes with the white outline and the dash line on the images. I then die cut a rectangular white card panel and then cut a oval window through it. I then adhered the leaves and flowers on the white window panel with tape. I also used foam squares in few places for dimension. I then adhered the window panel with the images using foam tape on to the ink blended card stock with the sentiment. I finished the card by adding a few sequen and adhering the whole card front to a deep green card base.

Apart from the colourful look  I love how a portion of the leaves is inside the window and few leave pop out of the card from the top and bottom of the card.

2nd Project :

Bharati nayudu thankyou tag with flowers.jpg

I really had a ton of fun making my second project which is a thank you tag.

I started with smooshing distress oxide inks on my craft mat and spraying some water. I then pressed my tag onto the ink. I repeated this process several times till I was happy with the results. Building layers of colour each time by adding ink, splattering water and drying between the layers. I then added interest by stamping some scripty font in black ink and the stamp i used is by Hero Arts and its called ‘Old French writing’. To add more interest i stamped randomly pattern from Bo Bunny’s  rough-it-up stamp set using spiced marmalade distress ink. I also added an image of a swirly ribbon in black ink from Inbetweenies stamp set by  Dyan Reaveley’s Dylusions. To add some texture to the tag i applied some embossing paste using a stencil by Tim Holtz. I was gifting a pack of beautiful flowers by Prima that I was hording since long and finally found place this tag. Before adhering the  flowers and the word die cut in black by Mudra Stamps, i did add few splatters of black ink with a thin brush. Then all that was left to do was to tie a white ribbon on the tag.

As you  can see I played with a lot of crafty goodies while making this tag and therefore enjoyed the whole process.

The theme for the month – Flowers has many beautiful possibilities and I hope my projects inspire you to play along at Paru’s Card Making Challenge. Thank you Ms. Paru for the wonderful opportunity!

May your spring be filled with colorful flowers and crafts.

AAA Cards #108 All You Need Is Love

Hello There,

#108

It’s the month of valentine’s day and all you need is love. That’s exactly the challenge at AAA Cards this fortnight. Here’s my take on the challenge.

Bharati nayudu AAA Cards CAS love.pngSince the badge graphic says its all about love, I was inspired to have a cluster of hearts and for the sentiment – just the word love.

SXES4219For this card, I first cut the cluster of hearts using the ‘clipping hearts’ die by Simon Says Stamp from a deep red card stock and then from my white card front. I then in laid the red hearts into the white card front, that fit right into the gap.

For the sentiment I die cut 3 times the word love using the ‘hey love’ word die by Simon Says Stamp.

Then all that was left was to adhere the finished card front to a card base that matched the color of hearts. I really resisted adding clear sequin to this card to keep it really simple.

I hope my card inspires you to play along AAA Cards challenge and gets you crafting to make some handmade happiness for your loved ones. Do visit AAA Cards challenge for more inspiration from the very creative Design Team and the two guest designers Bev and Sue who have beautiful cards to dazzle you. Kindness – Guest Designer at CASology

Hi there,

I am playing along as the Guest Designer at CASology Challenge this week and I am on cloud nine. CASology is one of the challenges where my work has been acknowledged on several occasions by the talented DT members and i am forever grateful for their constant encouragement and support.

Week 280 - Kindness

The cue word this week is Kindness. The challenge is to make CAS style cards, so do check out the CAS guidelines from their website.

So here’s my take on the cue word – A bit of dimension, glitter and gloss make a CAS card extra beautiful against the white space. I feel being kind is supper cool and hence i went with cool colors. Also to match the word difference in the sentiment i went with a  unique die cut pieces.

The clean and simple way of making a card always highlights the message and the feeling of happiness / kindness that we show each other by giving handmade cards and items.  This is the perfect opportunity to spread some kindness around.  Thank and acknowledge others for their kindness.

I hope my card inspires you to play along CASology challenge and gets you crafting to spread kindness around. Do visit their blog for more inspiration from the super talented Design Team. Many thanks to the lovely ladies at CASology for the honor.

Sparkle – Guest Designer at AAA Cards

Hello There,

What do you do when you get asked to guest design at one of your favorite challenges – you jump with joy and accept the lovely opportunity. Well that’s exactly what i did.

#105 (2)

I am very excited and greatly honored to play along with AAA Cards challenge as Guest Designer for the Game #105 with the theme – Sparkle. The challenge is to make CAS style cards, so do check out the definition of CAS from their website by clicking HERE.

I love CAS style cards because its made with a few striking elements to compliment the contrasting white space for achieving a stunning look and there is nothing better than adding sparkle to a CAS Card. So here’s my card for the game.

Bharati Nayudu sparkle CAS card _guest designer for aaa cards challenge 105.jpg

For this challenge I made a CAS Christmas card and the theme – Sparkle was just perfect to play with all the shiny goodies in my craft stash. To make this card I used red Glimmer paste for the strip on the left, gold heat embossing powder for the sentiment as well as for completely covering the elegant snowflake die cut, a golden thread to hang the embossed snowflake, some clear sparkling sequins and green metallic card stock as card base.

Hi there,

Today I am sharing a card that I made inspired by the sketch at CAS Color and Sketch challenge #251, colors at Color Throw Down Challenge #471, Embossing technique at Crafters Cafe Blog Challenge #186

Picture1.png

I am really happy how the black border around the die cut n in laid ‘Hello’ word looks between the two gold heat embossed panels. The foam under the die cut ‘Hello’ word adds more interest.

I really enjoyed planing the inlay design and the die cutting for this card. Hope you like it too.
