Thank you for joining me for the next challenge at CASology and the cue word is “Glass”

Week 321 - Glass.jpg

Here’s my take

UFGFE5844.JPG

Many ideas popped in my head – stain glass effect, beer glass, other cocktail glasses, glass window, snow globe, reading glasses…

I decided to raise my glass to my lil sis, who is traveling beautiful places around the world and enjoying the best in life.

What’s your take? I hope my card inspires you to join us at CASology and gets you to crafting. Do  play along with us, just remember to keep it CAS. The following CAS guidelines should be of help when creating your design:

  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

Forever Grateful

Hi There!

I am thankful for a lot of things in my life, my parents, loving sis, caring husband, family, friends and most of all our super adorable son. I am truly blessed to have a stable job and to have found my calling i.e. crafting  – Handmade Happiness.

But every once in a while life throws a curve ball and you got to deal with it. Recently, I had such a situation and thanks to a very loving friend, whom i absolutely admire, i could hit this curve ball right out of the park! I knew fell down hard, but thanks to my dear friend, i got myself up feeling more powerful and beautiful from within. Thank you dear friend and this card is especially for you. I am forever Grateful to you and our friendship.

Here’s To make this card i first stamped and colored the center cut floral stamp by Simon Say stamp. After fussy cutting the image, I then covered the colored portion with glossy accents for added texture and dimension.

Once the focal image was ready, before adhering it with foam squares i stencilled the background in soft grey color.

I then added the strip of black fish cut card stock with the sentiment heat embossed in white.

Finally to finish the card, i adhered the card onto a grey card base and added clear sequin.

I enjoyed making this card, as i was filled with an overwhelming feeling of gratefulness towards my friend and all the while i was making this card, i was only thinking about her. Using the colors i thought she would like, enjoying the whole experience of making something from my heart for a loved one.

I share my story, mostly to encourage/inspire anyone who is reading this, not to shy away from seeking help of friends. Not to suffer or deal with the life alone. It’s surprising how a chat / drive with a friend, can make life more wonderful.

I love reading your comments and greatly appreciate your time on my blog. Do let me know your thoughts.

I am playing with a couple of challenges with this card:

SSS Monday Challenge – Thanks

Daily marker 30 day challenge

CASology – Scary

Hi There!

It’s the time of the year when Halloween is celebrated in many countries around the world. The next cue word for the challenge at CASology is – ‘SCARY’.

We don’t celebrate Halloween in India, but my son and i wanna try carving a pumpkin this year just for fun.

Here’s my card

This one was very simple once i stamped and colored the pumpkin.  Initially i was thinking of having the pumpkin on a white card front with inked background. Later i changed my mind looking how well the colored pumpkin pops on a black background.

Guest designing @ Words to craft by challenge

Hi there!

So happy you are joining me as I share my guest design for the Words to Craft By challenge. Many thanks to Sybrina and the DT members at Words to Craft by for having me over.

What an amazing quote for inspiration:

Listen!
The wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves,
We have had our summer evenings,
now for October eves.

To make this card I inked the panel using a stencil by newton’s nook and distress inks.

I then tied a bow to the inked panel before adhering it to a card base.

For sentiment I used the thankful word die by Simon Says Stamp . I die cut the word in golden n the shadow in black. To finish the card I added a few sequin.

I hope my card inspires you to play along this wonderful challenge at ‘Words to craft by’. Join us and share your take!

Do tell me what you think about my card in the comments section. I love to read your views and highly appreciate them.

I am also playing along with the following challenges:

Paru’s card making Challenge : The word die has a touch of gold that is apt for the Oct challenge at Paru’s blog.

CASology #Punctuation

Hello There!

Thank you for joining me for the next CASology challenge. The next cue word is “punctuation”. We are expecting some super interesting takes n designs in our gallery

Here’s my card

To make this card I first inked the edge with distress inks n a stencil

I have fallen in love with using big bold sentiments, especially on a CAS design. This bold “yes you can!” stamp is by Simon say Stamp. I felt that the exclamation mark is perfect for the cue word this week. So I stamped it with black ink. Finally, i adhered the card front to a black card base.

I then added a strip of patterned paper on the edge for added interest.

I hope my card inspires you to get crafting and play along with us at  CASology . Just remember to keep it CAS by following the guidelines on the CASology blog.

Fall Floral card

Hi There!

I am so happy you are joining me today! Today i am sharing a fall card with floral and leaves theme.

MYIFE0160.JPG

I actually love quilling in addition to stamping. So these stamps by Newton’s Nook with quilled flowers is like having best of both worlds!! Lol!

To make this card, i first inked a white card stock with distress inks in fall colors using the leaves stencil by Newton’s Nook. After the distress inks dried completely, keeping the stencil in the same position I then covered the inked area with versamark (transparent) ink. I removed the stencil and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to lock the fall colors on the leaves. I then inked the panel with green distress ink. The whole panel popped with wonderful vibrant fall colors and i loved the results so much. I also stamped the quilled flowers & leaves and colored them with alcohol markers. I fussy cut the images and added finishing touches with Nuvo glitter drops.

Once all the elements were ready i assembled my card. The i adhered the flowers such that they have some dimension since i wish to hand the card to the recipient myself.
