Mixed Media Tag

Hello There!!

I am happy share another Mixed Media Tag that I made. I was fun stepping out of my comfort zone and try something different for a change!

IMG_1884

For the background I used distress oxides and then stamped with a scripty stamp. I also stamped on one of the edges for added interest.

IMG_1889.JPG

I then used a butterfly stencil to apply the glitter paste by nuvo

IMG_1891

I finally added some white lace, flowers and a black ribbon to the tag

Hi There!

I am Bharati Nayudu and welcome to Handmade Happiness!

I am very excited to be Guest Designing for Ranganjali and sharing ideas for Diwali Decor using their Ranganjali Radiant Rakhi Die Set. This die set comes with 4 pieces and a sentiment.

Do visit their store for very elegant and fabulous designs. Click Here

Diwali is a Festival of lights and here are some sper easy DIY projects for decorating your house with lights. Wish you all a happy Diwali!!

Project 1 : Small Artificial Candles

1

For this project i started by die cutting some glitter card stock in different colors using the Ranganjali Radiant Rakhi Die Set.

Picture1

I then took two larger rings and adhered one over the other and adhered the same to  small artificial candles. I then adhered the gorgeous circular patterns with the intricate design on top of the candle.

2

Any type of adhesive that dries transparent and adheres paper to plastic will do. I used the good old liquid Fevicol for my projects.

5

Project 2 : Big Artificial Candle

1

This project was very simple and fun to make. I had my 11 yr of son also help me in this one.

2

We first die cut some glitter card stock with the same dies from Ranganjali Radiant Rakhi Die Set  and then we decorated it by adhering the die cut patterns as per our choice.

3

Here i am using a Big size artificial Candle so that the design is visible against the white base of the candle. You can experiment with the sizes of the candles and the choice of cardstock.

4

Project 3: Glass Tea Lights

1

I actually had some of the die cuts left from the previous projects and so i go this idea to use the die cuts as a decorative base for the tea ligts

2

I adhered two die cuts together and then adhered it to the base of the tealight.

3

Such a small addition makes such remarkable difference and its always fun to have unique ways to deck up the lights.

4

Project 4: Small Artificial Candles

IMG_1965

For this project i used the smaller die from the set. I first die cut some card stock with the chice of die.

IMG_1964

I then cut the die cut pieces into half . I then adhered the pieces around the small artificial candles

IMG_1968

I had so much fun making these projects and I am excited to decorate my house with these lovely DIY candles.

These designs are actually quite generic and so I think these candles will look good for all occassions, be it festivals or parties  or just a good candle light dinner with your family / friends.

I am going to make a couple more of these and gift them to some of my friends.

Do let me know what you think about these ideas in the comments section. I love reading your views and highly appreciate your time on my blog.

Thank you Ranganjali for this lovely opportunity!

Diwali is a Hindu Festival of lights and its marked by decorating the houses with lights and having fun with fireworks.. It’s an occasion to wish your loved ones joy and prosperity.

Card 1 : Ranganjali Radiant Rakhi Die Set

IMG_1921

To make this card I die cut some glitter card stock in different colors using the Ranganjali Radiant Rakhi Die Set.  Then on a white card base I adhered the die cuts in the patterns of my choice.

IMG_1924

I really love the gorgeous patterns and the intricate design on this die set.  It’s a set with four dies that can be used independently as well as together.

IMG_1925

To finish the card I added the sentiment from the Ranganjali Rakshabandhan Wishes Clear Stamp Set and mounted it on a deep red card base.

IMG_1923

Card 2 : Ranganjali Fancy Fireworks

1

I made this card using the Ranganjali Fancy Fireworks die . On a black card stock I die cut with the fireworks die twice.

2

I die cut some glitter card stock with the same die and then in laid the little star pieces.

3

To finish the card i added a die cut sentiment and mounted it on a white card base.

Card 3: Ranganjali Radiant Rakhi Die Set

1

Isn’t it fun to stretch the dies and use them in other ways than intended?? I used this piece from the Rakhi builder set that was supposed to be the part connecting the rakhi to the threads.. here i have used it was Diwali lanterns .

2

To make this card I die cut this piece in different glitter card stock and then adhered them on a black card stock that had a string in gold.

3.JPG

I then heat embossed the sentiment in white that says “Best wishes for Diwali ” in hindi. I really love the font of this sentiment.
