Showcasing Tubby Craft Dye Inks

Hello There!

tubby

Welcome to my post. Today i have made 2 cards using the stamps and the vibrant dye inks by Tubby Craft.  With the inks the focus is on ink blending for great background on the cards.

CARD 1 : Anniversary Card

Picture1

To make this card i first masked the edges of the card front and then ink blended on it using the Tubby Craft inks – Lemon Yellow, Tangy Orange and Imperial Red. A tip for a good ink blending is nice juicy ink dabbers. Mine are so full of ink. Also dabbing the ink on a separate paper and starting slightly off the page eliminates blobs of ink on the project. I must say i love how the Tubby craft inks blend into each other forming a smooth gradient. I peeled the masking tape off after the ink bending was over.

Picture2

On a separate watercolor paper, i stamped the images of the numbers 1 and 0 using acrylic blocks by Tubby Craft and heat embossed it with Tubby Craft Jet Black ink & cleared embossing powder. The cute critters peeping from the image of the number makes the stamps adorable. cake

Picture3

I then colored the image using the dye inks for water coloring. The Tubby craft inks I used are – ” Lead Grey”, “Light Pink”, ” Chocolate Brown”, “Lawn Green” and  “Emerald Green”. I used the acrylic blocks by Tubby Craft as bases where i applied a little ink on to it and then water colored by picking the ink from it.

Picture5

I then fussy cut the images and adhered them on the inked panel with foam tape to add dimension. I also Stamped the sentiment ” Happy Anniversary” from the “Fancy Sentiment” stamp set by Tubby craft.

Picture4

I then added few sequin and nuvo drops to embellish the card and adhered on to  back matted layer.

Picture6

I finished the card by adding the whole card front on to a white card base.

CARD 2 : Lucky to have you Card

Picture1

For this card I first used the masking tape to conceal the area i wanted to be left white. For this i first cut thinner strips of the masking tape and then stuck them in a desired pattern. Picture2

Then I inked the whole card front using Tubby craft dye inks in bright colors like – Aqua Blue, Sapphire Blue, Lilac Purple, Magenta, Lavender violet.

Picture3

I then peeled the masking tape to reveal the white area. This looks so pretty. Isn’t It.

Picture4

I then added a rectangular die cut sheet of vellum

Picture6

On a smaller rectangular die cut i stamped the sentiment from “Lucky quote” stampset using acrylic blocks by Tubby Craft and heat embossed it with Tubby Craft Jet Black ink & cleared embossing powder. I adhered this piece on top of the vellum sheet.

Picture5

I then added a few sequin and gem stones to embellish the card and add further interest.

Picture7

I also added the matted layers before adhering to the card base. All the layers are adhered using foam tape to add dimension to each layer.

CASology #336 Ocean

Hi there!

Welcome to my post for the CASology challenge this week. The cue word this week is “Ocean”. Such an amazing cue word with a million possibilities… Ocean critters are one of my favorite category of stamps and there is such an abundance in stamps and variety in collection when it comes to ocean theme.

Week 336 - Ocean

Here’s my take:

1.JPG

For this card i wanted to contain the design in a die cut window to achieve the CAS look. I first die cut a widow in the card front. Then on a separate card stock i created ocean background with distress oxide inks and waves stencil by simon says stamp.

FEXD2015.JPG

I stamped the sentiment in black and set this piece aside. Next I stamped the image of these adorable whales. This stamp is by lawn fawn and one of the oldest stamps that i own. I also created a die cut window front and inked with distress oxide inks to match the background. Finally i assembled all the elements and i used foam squares to add dimension while adhering.

  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

AAA Cards Challenge – 1 image + Spring

Hello There!
Welcome to a new challenge at AAA Cards. The CAS game #136 encourages you to use just one image. Such a simple and superb way to go CAS.
#136

Here’s My take :
flowers.jpg
I played along with the optional twist as well which is spring. So I selected this lovely image of beautiful flowers. The stamp is by Crafty scrappers and it is called “Magnificent Champaka” . To make this card I first Stamped this single image in black and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
2.JPG

I then colored the image with zig real brush markers. They really work wonderfully on strathmore card stock. After coloring the image i also added a gray shadow around it to make is pop a little. Then I added a simple sentiment under one of the leaves and in a corner to maximize the whit space. I finally added a orange matted layer and adhered the card front to a black card base.

5.JPG

I hope my cards inspires you to play along AAA Cards challenge and gets you crafting to make some handmade happiness for your loved ones. Just remember to keep is Clean and Simple – CAS.

CASology #334 Funky

Hi there!

Welcome to my post for the CASology challenge this week. The cue word this week is really going to stir your creativity.

Week 334 - Funky.jpg

Here’s my take:

casology funky bird card.JPG

This super funky chick is from a stamp set called “Cat among the pigeons” by dylusions. I love how this birdie is sporting those shoes! I just enjoyed coloring the image in almost all the colors that were on my desk. LoL! I wish i could add a glittery disco ball on the top because, i can easily imagine this chick burning the floor with her groovy moves and rhythm.

While making this card i was really thinking of people who are funky in life. I mean the ones who set their own fashion statements, create trends and don’t define themselves by the store they shop in. The ones who are not afraid to be unique or stand out of the crowd. I really admire people who dress for themselves and are super comfortable in their own skin.

I just enjoyed making this card and feeling happy looking at it. Ha Ha Ha Ha…… I hope my card inspires you to join us at CASology and gets you to crafting. Do  play along with us, just remember to keep it CAS. The following CAS guidelines should be of help when creating your design:

AAA Cards Challenge – Sentiment + 3

Hello There!
Welcome to a new challenge at AAA Cards. This one is going to be very interesting. Lots of ingredients with a perfect CAS recipe.
#135.jpg
We’re trying something new for this challenge and we hope it will help you to stay CAS.
Here’s how it’s done:
  • choose a sentiment – that’s the ONE part of the challenge
  • now for the PLUS THREE – choose just three more things from the pie chart below – e.g. a stamped image, a die cut, colouring pens or a die cut, a trio of small embellishments enamel drops would work, an inked stencil pattern
  • if you want to twist with us make sure your sentiment or image is about FRIENDS
  • create your CAS card

Just Take Three

Here’s My take : sentiment + one matted layer, a die cut, a trio of small embellishments
1.JPG
I played along with the optional twist as well and made a cards with the focal point as “friends”. To make this card I first Stamped the “Are Fantastic” sentiment on the card front in Black. I then die cut the word “friends” a couple of times and adhere them in a stack to form a solid embellishment. I then die cut the final layer from a pattern paper to add some color.
2

I then adhered the die cut element over the stamped sentiment and then added three sequins. I finally added a deep red matted layer and adhered the card front to a base.

3

We’ll pick a top winner and some runners up! It could be you!
