Interactive card and Tag card with Tubby Craft

Hello There!

tubby

Recently Tubby craft has added a few 3″x2″ inch designs to their wonderful collection of stamps. These come in beautiful messages with lovely font. The stamps can be used in a lot of different ways and they are simply at the best price point. I played with a few of these here to create an interactive card and a card with a tag.

CARD 1 : Interactive 2Way Slider Card

Picture1

When i saw this fun football stamp i had to make a card where the footballs moved. So for this card I first stamped the sentiment from the “football fan” stamp set using acrylic blocks by Tubby Craft and heat embossed the sentient in white . I then ink blended the sky portion using the Tubby Craft inks – Aqua Blue and Turquoise. This revealed the sentiment in white. I also added the die cut clouds from my stash.

Picture2

I then stamped the football image multiple time from the Tubby Craft “football fan” stamp set using their acrylic blocks in Tubby Craft Jet Black ink on to a white card stock. I then fussy cut the images.

I also got two grass panels die cut and inked them. I inked one with darker greens using Tubby Craft inks Olive Green and Emerald Green. The other with a lighter combination of Lawn Green and Emerald Green inks. I also stamped the cute flower from “Lucky Quote” stamp set using the acrylic blocks by Tubby Craft in different vibrant colors. The inks i used for the flowers are – “Light Pink” , “Lilac Purple”, “Tangy Orange”, “Hot Pink” and  “Lemon Yellow”.

Picture3

Once all the elements were ready, i assembled the card with the help of a youtube tutorial on making 2 way slider card by “Alilovescardmaking”. I finished the card by adding gem stones to the centers of the flowers for extra interest.

Picture4.png

I really love how the footballs move on this card and that this stamp set is just perfect to tryout a number of interactive and fun card designs. So whether you are a seasoned card maker or starting out, or like to make tags and journals; this stamp set is a awesome addition to your stash and has just so many possibilities . I am surely going to be using this set a lot for making masculine card and cards for the kids in my life. What are your plans?

CARD 2 : Card with a Tag

aa4.png

For this card i just went all out on the inks and boy did i have fun!! I first taped the card front with a masking paper as i wanted a white edge all around

I then created the galaxy background by first adding the bright colors like – Lemon Yellow, Lawn Green, Hot Pink, Lilac Purple and Tangy Orange. I filled in the gaps with aqua blue ink. Such beautiful colors. Around the borders i added Sapphire Blue and Jet Black Inks by Tubby Craft and finally removed the masking tape.   I then added stars with a white pen.

aa3

For the focal point i wanted to use a dimensional tag. So on a die cut, i stamped the image from the  “Love Moon” stamp set using acrylic block by tubby craft and heat embossed it in gold. I wanted the shine and metallic finish.  I then punched a hole and added the twine.

aa2

I adhered the tag with on to the card using dimensional foam tape and colored the images on the tag with Zig markers. I went for the lose water color look and stuck to just two colors.

AAACards – Musical CAS Card

Hello There!

Happy Sunday and have musical weekend. The twist at AAAcards challenge this time has musical theme. To make the cards CAS we challenge you to use only one corner of the card. That should be very simple and easy right!

#134.jpg

Here’s my card

1.jpg

I used alcohol inks for creating a colorful background in  a corner of the card.

Picture1

I then added the die cuts of the musical notes on the colored area. The die cuts are by Casual Friday & My Favorite Things. I chose to keep the die cuts in white to enhance the CAS look and to have a strong contrast against the dark background. I then adhered the die cuts and the sentiment and the card is ready.

6

CARD 2 – Shaker Card and water coloring with dye inks

1

picture1I have to tell you, i have been using the dye inks by Tubby craft  and i love the results with them. These are good for stamping, heat embossing, coloring with my copic markers, ink blending, coloring with prisma color pencils and i am able to water color with these as well.I find myself reaching for these more and more for their multi functionality and vibrant colors.

3To make this card I first ink blended on a white card stock with dye inks by Tubby Craft. The colors is used are : Tangy Orange, Lemon Yellow and Imperial Red.  I then stamped on it the artsy “Made with Love” sentiment using their acrylic stamping blocks in Jet black ink.

2

I then stamped the floral image from the Roses & More stamp set using their acrylic stamping  blocks in Jet Black ink by Tubby Craft on a water color card stock. I colored the image dye inks by Tubby Craft and added a few highlight with the color pencils. The colors is used are : Tangy Orange, Light Pink, Lawn Green, Emerald Green, Olive Green, Aqua Blue and Imperial Red.  I then fussy cut the image and kept it ready.

4

Once the colored elements were ready, I die cut a oval window in the card front and stuck an acetate for the shaker window. I added foam tape on the back of the window and filled it with shaker mix before closing the back of the window with the ink blended piece. I then adhered the shaker card to a black card base and finally adhered the colored image of the roses to finish the card.

I just enjoyed playing with all the inks and using them to ink blend as well as color.

CASOLOGY #330 Bouquet

Hello There!

Welcome back to the CASology challenge.  This week the cue word at CASology is Bouquet and there are so many ways to go with this word. The possibilities are simply unlimited.

Here’s My card:

CAS card.jpg

This lovely image of the bouquet is from a stamp set by Crafty Scrappers. I colored it using copic markers and then added a few highlights with color pencils and white pen.

I love how stenciling in the background adds interest and layer without adding any bulk to a CAS Card. It’s one of my go to techniques for CAS Cards. I was so tempted to add jewel drops or sequins or any other embellishment, but i felt the beauty of this card lies in its simplicity.

I am really happy with the CAS look of this card and i hope my card inspires you to join us at CASology and gets you to crafting. Do  play along with us, just remember to keep it CAS. The following CAS guidelines should be of help when creating your design:

AAACARDS #132 – One Layer + Love

Hello There!

February is the month of love and we too are celebrating Love at AAACards Challenge.  The challenge format has a twist and is made more interesting for you to create wonderful Clean And Simple cards.

#133.jpg

Here’s my card

KYBSE8999.JPG

I have to be honest, i am a bit scared of one layer cards. I guess, that’s because i feel i have very less scope for error. So this is completely out of my comfort zone.

RQXSE6464.JPG

I began with coloring this cute and adorable image by Penny Black Stamps. I think the set is called critters in love.

WJXFE5772.JPG

After coloring, the image, i masked it with liquid masking fluid and inked the background with a bit of blue and green.

Tip: Please be patient for the masking fluid to dry. You may use a masking paper or masking tape as well.

KQRGE0454.JPG

After inking, i then peeled the masking and stamped the sentiment. Voila! the card is ready.
