Cherish

Hi,

Today I am sharing this card that I made for my husband.

When I saw the cue card word “Cherish” at CASology challenge, all I could think about was how i really cherish my relationship with him.

I also love the fact that ever since I have started cardmaking, I am able to express my love and feelings through cards to all the people in my life.

Hope you liked the card

You are my world

Hi,

I am playing along with AAACard Challenge and The Male Room challenge with this silhouette CAS card inspired by the film around the world in 80 days.

Hope you like this sweet and simple card

Shaken not stirred

Hi, here’s yet another entry for the AAACard Challenge inspired by films

I think we all have grown up watching generations of 007 movies packed with adventure, action n thrill.

Over the years the actors playing the classy super spy changed, locations changed, Villians changed,  but what remained constant was this man’s drink n the precise manner in which he wants it made…

So here’s to Mr. Bond, James bond.

Love is in the Air

The movie UP is one of my favorite movies /love stories. I love the soundtrack of the film as well. Here’s another entry for the aaacardchallenge inspired by the movie UP.

To make the clouds I first die cut a scrap card stock with cloud border die. Then using the die cut as a stencil, I softly blended the cloud pattern on a white card front.

For this card I used stamps and coordinating dies from lawnfawn bicycle built for you , lawnfawn Fairy Friends and MFT adorable elephant. I colored the balloons with water colors and the house with copic markers.

To finish the card I stuck all the elements on the card front and added the Sentiment.

I love how stamps from lawnfawn and mftstamps  go so well together. That’s another love story I guess.

Hope you loved the card. Have a great day.

You make me smile

hi, today I am sharing what I made by casing the card by Laura Bassen. She is a wonderful card marker n I just her style, especially how effortlessly she does ink blending n the colors she uses on her cards. I am casing her card in the colors I think she likes – Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachios and Peacock Feathers.
The sketch for the card is from MFT Sketch Challenge #356 n the Smile Sentiment from the Addicted to Stamps challenge #256 photo inspiration.

To make this card, I masked the edges with masking tape n ink blended with distress oxide inks on the white card stock. I removed the masking tape n loved the look of the crisp white edges. Then I die cut the word ‘smile’ a couple of times using a die by My Favorite Things. I stacked the word on top of each other before pasting it on the black strip on which the sentiment was heat embossed in white. To finish the card I added novu Jewel drops in coordinating colors.

I am linking this card to HSL anything goes with dies – October challenge as well.

I hope you liked the card, do let me know what you think about it in the comments section.

Have a great day!

Monsters.ink

Hello there!

Made this Clean n simple card inspired by the movie Monsters.inc for the AAACard Challenge #101 – inspired by a film challenge and less is more #351 – Monsters challenge.

The ink splotches are my tribute to the month of Inktober!

To make this card i first stamped the cute monster image from Crazy Monsters Stampset by Mudra Stamps on copic friendly paper and ink to color with copic markers. After fussy cutting the colored image, i adhered a googly eye for dimension and added fun. Once the image was ready, I stenciled an ink splotch with distress ink after heat embossing the sentiment in black. Then all there was left to finish the card was to adhere my monster image on the card before mounting the panel on a black card base.

Thanks so much for dropping by and do let me know what you think about this one in the comments

Monster Hugs and Happy Inktober!

Swimming in Oceans of Love

BHARATI NAYUDU OCEAN OF LOVE

Hi,

downloadI am sharing a card that my sister and i created together for the Time Out ‘Home Sweet Home’ photo challenge. Their inspiration  photo “Anythingology” is really awesome.

What inspired us was the contrast between the striking white of the seahorse/shells and the vibrant orange of pumpkin. The twigs and glass bottle added to the beauty. We tried to incorporate these elements in our card as well.

To make this, we took a white card that had a jar shape per-cut in it (this one was by Jillibean for shaker cards).

After masking the edges with a masking tape and ink blending the card front with  distress inks (Carved Pumpkin & Spiced Marmalade), we added few flicks of water and lifted the same. Once the masking tape was off, we were delighted with the contrast that the crisp white edges and jar shape provided against the bright and vivid inked card front. We then stamped the schools of cute fish inside the jar with light and dark browns to reflect the  color from the twigs in the inspiration photo.

For the Seahorse we first white heat embossed the image on a white card stock. Then we re-heat embossed only certain details on the image with light orange embossing powder for added interest. To create further dimension we again heat embossed the entire image of the seahorse with clear embossing powder. I was quite thrilled with the outcome of our experiment to color emboss just a few details on the image. We then fussy cut the image of the sea horse and also some white corals. I had had this star fish embellishment for quite sometime, which finally found its home on this card. All the elements were then stuck on the card after we heat embossed the lovely sentiment to finish.

Today, while I was making this card in a hurry before i left for office; I realized that i was swimming in Oceans of Love, just as the card read and visualized the elements of this card personify infront of my eyes (I am a bit of a crazy romantic and yes, i know i am weird that way).

While i was making this card as quickly as i could (pl read –  while i was swimming in oceans of love):

  1. Our son like the lil cute fish got ready for school all by himself without any help from me (which the sweet lil fellow actually does everyday).
  2. My house help took care of everything in the kitchen, leaving me worry free to concentrate on my card, like the white corals that give support.
  3. My talented sister helped me in all the ways possible. Who like the star fish on the card is the actual star. It was mostly her design and idea that we executed.
  4. My husband had actually left home early in the morning to drop his parents at the airport. But instead of heading to office or asking me to drop our son at school, he drove all the way back home to drop our son at school, so that i could finish my card on time. He like the seahorse carried the load.

IMG-20171025-WA0027All these lovely people in my life actually know how much i love to craft and encourage/support me to take part in challenges with all their heart.

I am truly blessed and very thankful to each one of them. More so because i have seen quite a few crafters, especially women, who don’t get encouraged so much. Most of the times, people think its just a hobby and don’t appreciate how keen & passionate a crafter could be.

I want to give a huge shout out to my family as well as all the people who help crafters/ artists like me to pursue their passion and follow their heart.

Three Cheers to all those who create Oceans of Love!

Thanks for dropping by and hope you liked my card. Do let me know what you think through the comments.

Have a great day, make someone happy today!

Autumn Wreath

This card was made in less than 5 mins. The fastest one so far.  Of course , i had all the supplies out on my desk, including the matting card stock and card base ready to go.

First I die cut some watercolor card stock using a rectangle die. Then using a bangle and a pencil i drew a very light circle.

I used the Hero Arts Flower Garden stamp set which has these cute and adorable images of flowers and leaves. I stamped some of those following the pencil circle as a guide and colored in with distress inks and water. To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment with spiced marmalade distress ink and matted the panel using a black and orange card stock.

                      Picture2

The most fun thing about making this card was that it one layer, easy to make and fast to execute. I did make 6 more cards with the same design and using different colors.

The colors and theme for the card are inspired by a couple of challenges that i am linking this card to:

I hope you liked my quick card.  Do let me know what you think by leaving me a comment.

PS: Don’t forget to erase the pencil line after the inks have completely dried.
